Mushroom Foraging Workshop

Mushroom experts Kathy Haynes Egan and Michael Egan are going to share their knowledge Saturday, Nov. 1, at Gudmundson Wildlife Sanctuary. The Egans have been producing log-farmed
shiitake, reishi, and lions mane mushrooms since 2014, and Michael forages edible plants and wild mushrooms on their property in the Athens/Petersburg area. They’ll cover such topics as  identification,  health benefits, using the turkey tails, making teas and tinctures, and whether to dry the mushrooms. The event runs from 1-3 p.m. It’s just $10 for members and $20 for everyone else. You must register in advance. Register here
