DESCRIPTION:Join us at our Wolf Preserve to help with invasive species removal and firebreak preparation. No experience is necessary. Wear your favorite work clothes and close-toed shoes. Bring along gloves if you like. All tools are provided along with detailed instructions. Independent and group projects are available. And two hours is not mandatory. If you can only help for a portion of the time\, we welcome your assistance. Workdays may be cancelled due to weather conditions. SUMMARY:Mushroom Foraging Workshop
DESCRIPTION:Mushroom experts Kathy Haynes Egan and Michael Egan are going to share their knowledge Saturday\, Nov. 1\, at Gudmundson Wildlife Sanctuary. The Egans have been producing log-farmed\nshiitake\, reishi\, and lions mane mushrooms since 2014\, and Michael forages edible plants and wild mushrooms on their property in the Athens/Petersburg area. They’ll cover such topics as  identification\,  health benefits\, using the turkey tails\, making teas and tinctures\, and whether to dry the mushrooms. The event runs from 1-3 p.m. It’s just $10 for members and $20 for everyone else. You must register in advance. Register here
